Pathway of the Heart




The pathway is cirucuitious

it goes down many alleys

scooping up the ne'er do wells and virtuous




The pathway of the heart wants to spill over the banks into the worst neighborhoods

it wants to ride through and make your alleys wet

flooding streets with love




the pathway of the heart is breaking open so that the contents

don't discriminate between worthy and unworthy




the pathway of the heart is all encompassing

what illustrative allegory would fully express the magnitude of this?
And off yourself and your power to love

to love the unlovable, to not flinch at what you judge unworthy

especially your own face in the mirror




The pathway of the heart includes you, includes everyone

until we are all standing in a circle looking eye to eye

heart to heart toning the love we are in song


The pathway of the heart makes routes through city streets

sweeping up all who are lost, and have given up hope

it alights like doves when old bread crumbs are thrown onto the sidewalk

it wanders into the hands of those holding babies who need soothing at three a.m.

It seeps into the underbelly of the crime lords who also need it as much as anybody

the pathway of the heart has no discrimination

it is an equal opportunity substance

nothing is left behind when it passes through your neighborhood.

Let it pass through you own heart and see the power

feel the possibility

and shine on, shine your love light to the fullest
