![]() Body as the home of the complete human being: In this physical reality in which we live, the body is our home, a locus of freedom that allows us to walk our own unique path, both literally and symbolically. Once we fully overcome the dualism between matter and Spirit, the body can no longer be seen a s "prison of the soul" or even as a "temple of the spirit." The mystery of incarnation never alluded to the 'entrance' of Spirit into the body, but to its 'becoming' flesh: "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was God and the word became flesh" Would it then perhaps be more accurate to appreciate our bodies as a transmutation of Spirit into fleshy form at least during physical existence? Through the ongoing incarnation of innumerable beings, life may aim at the ultimate union of humanity.and divinity in the body. Perhaps paradoxically, a complete incarnation can bring a peaceful and fulfilling death because we can then depart from this material existence with a prfoundly felt sense of having accomplished one of the most essential purposes in being born into the world. ~Jorge N. Ferrer from Authentic Movement Teacher Susan Schell I like this quote as it speaks to this process of ascension which more of my friends are calling descension. By that they mean that they are bringing through celestial light of source into the body. Our role is to live on earth blended fully with spirit. Or it is to know the light that we are fully anchored to earth, and grounded. It is live in the body, complete with personality, all the contraints of this reality and being human yet break through them and experience the light and love that we are. I see advanced souls that have gone through and overcome such hardship. It might be something that they chose to experience as part of their soul plan. It might be a physical limitation like not being able to walk or to see. Or maybe an emotional limitation like a dysfunctional family or trauma. It advances the soul's knowing to go through this. It also means that an awakening is more likely to happen in these dark nights of the soul that occur for them. All we experience has a higher purpose though is certainly can be challenging to be an earthling. (It can also be bliss too.) Ultimately we are not to escape our earthy challenges, our human body, our personality and egos. We are to transcend them and learn to live within the limitations they place upon us. We recover by learning to love ourselves. We may recover by taming our personality through a practice being present. It does not mean that the personality goes away but that it comes in line with the heart with the highest good of all. Our bodies are here for the ride, yet we are connected to spirit with more and more celestial light arriving to earth and being available all the time. I was learning today, in a shared medtitation, about the importance of connecting to Mother Gaia and being grateful for her, while feeling her love. The more we ground to Mother Earth with our imaginary roots through our physical bodies, the more we can extend ourselves to receive from the heavens. Likewise, the more we ground ourselves into feeling our physical bodies and being present with sensation, in the now, then the more spirit filled we can be. To fly we must have roots was the essence of the message. Thank you for reading!
