In meditiaton, the Buddhists work with the feeling of emptiness which would be noticing emptiness, and that all is empty pretending to be form. Meditation takes you to noticing emptiness, in some Buddhist meditation practices. Today I am noticing bridging of states of being and how that can be an experiment. Feeling my body spontaneously becoming empty during a silent meditation, as if it is a shell and the shell is permeable, as in barely there. At the end of the meditation, I open my eyes and come to a waking state. Visual stimuli floods in. I notice how this lovely empty feeling starts to fade. Could it be that I am getting filled in with density? Well, it is the appearance of being heavy or solid that comes in. What if I kept the lightness and feeling of emptiness? It seems like there is less of a difference between outer and inner. There is a permeability between this body and the environment, a blending. I like feeling like I am a part of everything which would be out of separation consciousness and into unity consciousness. Consciousness means awareness, which could make it simple. The experiment of blending, like I mentioned before, is taking the state of meditation into normal waking awareness. Continued feeling of emptiness and thus unity with all things.... that would be interesting. And doing this anchors in the sensation. First I feel it in meditation and then bring it back in waking awareness. A friend was explaining her feeling of awakening as being a part of everything, or everything is a part of her and is within her. It is becoming that big, and thus there is no you and no "them."
I can see this same bridging in the morning when I wake up. What if I brought what is relevant in the dream state into the waking state? One thing to bring in is the feeling of dreaming into waking. Another thing to bring in is the messages of images of the dreams that are there to show us something. I am not so good at this but have noticed that committing to writing down the dream first thing in the morning when I wake up really helps. It is showing the universe that I want to receive messages.
The idea of experimenting with bridging different states of consciousness means a more fluid, or maybe a more full experience of life. Maybe there is less compartmentalizing. I don't really know as I have just thought of this today and much of it is something felt and experienced.
Intersting stuff to ponder, at least for me. Thank you for listening to my musings...
